About Tom Putt

Tom Putt is part of the new generation of panoramic landscape photographers. Passionate and wildly enthusiastic about his photography, Tom has spent the last 12 years exploring all parts of Australia to photographing panoramic images.

Tom first feel in love with photography at age 13. He photographed wildlife as an amateur before leaving university to pursue a career in sports photography. In 1998, Tom’s photographic ability was recognized by Australia’s leading sports photography agency, Sport the Library. He covered over 300 events in a three-year period with the Library, including the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Tom’s passion has always been in panoramic landscape photography. His first photoshoot as a landscape photographer was walking the Overland Track for the first time in 1997. Since then, Tom has travelled extensively across Australia and New Zealand photographing landscapes in panoramic format.

An Associate of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), Tom has won over 40 Gold and Silver Awards in National and State Finals.  In 2005, he was the only Australian to be Highly Commended in the world’s most prestigious wildlife photogaphic competition, the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
